What to include on a content creator invoice

Flat fee or CPM?

Most sponsorships are a flat fee per placement, which invoices simply. Some pay per thousand views (CPM), or a flat fee plus a bonus above a view threshold. For those, invoice the flat part on posting. Then invoice the performance part once the reporting window in your contract closes, often 30 days. Show the maths on the line, for example "84,000 views × $25 CPM", so the sponsor can check it against their own data.

Scripts, approvals and revisions

Integrations usually go through script or draft approval. Your contract should say how many revision rounds are included. Anything beyond that, including re-shoots caused by late brief changes, belongs on the invoice as its own line. Unbilled revisions are scope creep by another name.

Getting paid on time

Put a specific due date on the invoice rather than just "Net 30", and send it the day the video goes live, with the link attached. For sponsors abroad, a USDC payment option through the crypto invoice generator avoids slow international transfers. With a free RivitPay account you can see the moment the sponsor opens the invoice, and reminders chase it for you.

Frequently asked questions

Is this content creator invoice template free?

Yes. Download it free for Word, Excel or PDF with no signup, or fill it in online with the free invoice generator and download a PDF with your details.

What should a content creator invoice include?

Your details, the sponsor's billing details and IO or PO number, an invoice number and dates, each placement with its platform, format, length and live date, any paid usage or performance payments, the total, payment terms and how to pay.

How do I invoice a CPM or performance deal?

Invoice any flat fee when the content goes live. Invoice the performance part after the reporting window in your contract closes, showing the calculation on the line, such as the number of views times the CPM divided by 1,000.

Should I charge for script revisions?

Include the revision rounds your contract allows in your fee. Extra rounds or re-shoots caused by brief changes are usually billed separately, on their own line.

Can a sponsor pay me in crypto?

Yes. The crypto invoice generator creates an invoice with a USDC payment QR code, and the payment goes straight from the sponsor's wallet to yours.
